Lloyd H. Stonehill

Lloyd Stonehill passed on December 30, 2021 at 94, on what would have been the 60th anniversary of his marriage to Jean Carole Herzer.  Jean was the love of his life and preceded him in death.  They enjoyed theatre and in addition to supporting our local Civic and Red Barn theatres, they traveled to New York and London frequently.  Family was all important to him and he relished the accomplishments of his four sons, Mark (Angie), Bill (Karen), John (Donna) and Rob.  His five grandchildren, Cort, Nick, Lauren (Kemble), Elizabeth and Hannah (Joe), were a great joy to him.  We are grateful the entire family was able to gather this Christmas.

His second greatest love was his community.  He owned and operated Frankfort Bottle Gas for 67 years.  He spent many cold winters delivering propane to establish the business.  He received his mechanical engineering degree from Purdue University.  He was a charter member of the Clinton County Hospital and long-time supporter of the Boys and Girls Club. He was a long-time member of the Frankfort Rotary Club.  He was a Who’s Who inductee in 1990.  He was a member of the Purdue President’s Council supporting Alzheimer’s research and a member of the Hudson Institute.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Visitation will be 12 noon-2 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Reverend VJ Stover will officiate the service.  Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.  Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the First Christian Church, 58 S. Columbia, Frankfort, IN 46041 or the Clinton County Boys and Girls Club, P.O. Box 103, Frankfort, IN  46041.  The family would like to thank Pat Brumbarger who enabled Lloyd to continue to live in his home until his death.
