The Frankfort Community Public Library is pleased to showcase artwork by five local artists in the Anna & Harlan Hubbard Gallery October 16 – November 23. The exhibit is titled, Local Gems and features artwork by Frankfort artists, or artists with ties to the city. The exhibit includes watercolor and alcohol ink paintings by Rena Brouwer, oil and acrylic paintings by Daniel Driggs, painted porcelain by C.J. Laster, photography by Jennifer Wells, and wooden ornaments and holiday décor by Wayne Williams. Artwork is for sale, and a portion of each sale goes to the Friends of the Frankfort library. The Friends use this money to sponsor arts and children’s programs at the library including Clinton County Youth Theatre and the Annual Concert Series.
The library is currently open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday noon to 7 p.m. Masks are required in the library, and please keep a six-foot distance from others while you are here. The Hubbard Gallery is open until 5 p.m. on business days. If the gallery doors are closed, please ask at the Circulation Desk and someone will open the doors for you. The 67th Street Printmakers will showcase some of their artwork on the lower level of the Frankfort Library Nov. 6, 2020–Jan. 6, 2021. The artists participating in the exhibit are Lorie Lee Andrews, Jody Bruns, Susan Fisher, Melissa Hauger, and James Hubbard. Be sure to stop by the library to enjoy these special exhibits.
