The City of Delphi recognized a community member over the weekend for his continued service to the community throughout his 60-years of dedication to various organizations and needs.
Mayor Kamron Yates, councilman Denny Myers and councilman Doyle Moore presented the Key to the City Award, which honors an individual who exemplified the values of selfless service, to Bill Schock.
Schock was selected for the award due to his tenure of over 60 years as a volunteer firefighter and his service to the country as a distinguished military soldier in the Vietnam War.
“Bill Schock’s unwavering dedication to volunteerism is truly exemplary,” the City released. “The City of Delphi extends our sincerest gratitude to Bill Schock for his remarkable service to our nation, the City of Delphi and Carroll County.”
