Lois Ilene Nydegger

Lois Ilene Nydegger, 89, of Colfax, went to be with her Lord on June 28, 2023 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East Hospital in Lafayette, Ind.  She was born on February 25, 1934 in Colfax to Herman A. and Zula Alice (Sheets) Bradshaw.  She married Charles F. Nydegger on December 31, 1953 in Colfax and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2010.

A lifelong Colfax resident, Lois was a 1952 graduate of Colfax High School.  She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mom, and grandmother.  She was an 80-year member of the Colfax Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years, was Bible School Director, and member of the Prayer Team.  She was an amazing cook, known for her noodles and pies – but mostly her chocolate chip cookies.  She enjoyed gardening and her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her Sons: Gregg (Barbara) Nydegger of Monticello and Scott (Annette) Nydegger of Crossville, TN; Sister: Patricia Spencer of Colfax; Grandchildren: Andrea (Jeremy) Corbin of Frankfort, David (Mandy) Nydegger of Tempe, AZ, Carrie (Aaron) Clark of Lafayette, Jonathan Nydegger of Lafayette, Timothy (Chrissy) Nydegger of Chandler, AZ, Sarah (Quincy) Jones of Lafayette, Bethany (Nathan) Overpeck of McKenzie, TN, and Makinze (Clay); Great-Grandchildren: Madison (Andrew) Mundy, Macy, Malachi, Micah, Matthias, McKinley, Maverick, McAlister, & Maxton Corbin, Savannah Clark, Alexandria Jones, and Cheyenne & Dominic Overpeck; along with “Her Baby” Great-Great-Grandson: Cole Mundy.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Colfax Christian Church, 314 S. Clark St., Colfax, IN 46035 with her son, Gregg Nydegger, officiating.  Friends may visit 2 p.m. until the time of celebration on Sunday at the Church.  Private Family Burial will be held in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.   Memorial donations may be made in Lois’s honor to the Colfax Christian Church.  Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort is honored to assist the Nydegger family.  Please visit archerweston.com, where you may share a message with the family.
