Mabel (Hinton) Weida

Mabel L. Weida, 89, of Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Mulberry Health.  She was born February 7, 1935, in Frankfort to Harold and Leota (Talbert) Hinton.  She married Charles Weida in Frankfort on November 25, 1954.  He preceded her in death, June 12, 2012.

Mabel was a 1954 graduate of Frankfort High School.  She worked for at Frankfort Senior High School as the manager of the cafeteria for 22 years until her retirement in 2000.  She was a very active member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she served as a Past Worthy Matron and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Frankfort Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, crocheting, birdwatching, watching sports, and sharing lots of laughter with her girls at Mulberry Health.  She loved her family and enjoyed being at family events and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in their activities.

Mabel is survived by her children, Charles Weida III and Cynthia (Ora) Reeder; brothers, Jim (Karen) Hinton and Joe (Betty) Hinton; sisters Nancy Stewart and Dianna Kay Cunningham; grandchildren, Jada (Chad) Ray and Becky (Justin) Brewer; great grandchildren, Jackson and Parker Ray and Grayson and Hudson Brewer; and many special nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Frances Parker.

Visitation will be held, Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 4-7pm, and Friday, May 24, from 10am until the time of the service at 11amat Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Pastor Chuck Williams will officiate.  Burial will follow at Kilmore Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made in Mabel’s honor to the American Lung Association.  Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
