Madie Bell Durham

Madie Bell Durham, 83, of Lebanon, passed away at 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Crown Pointe Assisted Living.  She was born on January 8, 1935 in Norwood, LA to Flynn Edward and Lillie Elizabeth (Laparie) Ebey.  She married Donald E. Durham on July 28, 1954 in Alexandria, LA and he preceded her in death on October 26, 1998.

Madie was a 1955 graduate of Bolton High School in Alexandria, LA.  She was an independent insurance agent and had worked for Del Monte and National Seal in Frankfort.  She was a member of Scotland Christian Church in Kirklin.  She enjoyed making Christmas trees from coat hangers, quilting, gardening, and loved birds and having garage sales.

Madie is survived by her Son:  Marvin Durham (Spouse: Sherri) of Shreveport, LA;  Daughters:  Pat Graham of Shreveport, LA and Kathy Niese (Spouse: John) of Indianapolis, IN;  Brother:  Jody Ebey of Metaire, LA;  Sister-in-law:  Evelyn Ebey of Kokomo, IN;  Grandchildren:  Kyle Durham of Shreveport, LA, Ryan Durham (Spouse: Mandy) of Lafayette, LA, Alecia McCutcheon (Spouse: Calvin) of Kent, United Kingdom, Ashley Wigg (Spouse: Drew) of Columbus, OH, and Michelle Holbert (Spouse: Timmy) of Dayton, OH;  Great Grandchildren:  Roze and Verity McCutcheon;  Several Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews.  She was preceded in death by her Brothers:  Clarence Ebey, Charles Ebey, Flynn Ebey, Jr., Herman Ray Ebey, and Cecil Ebey;  Sisters:  Allie Mae Smith and Annie Lee Normand;  Nephews:  Raymond Lee Normand, Curtis Ebey, and John Ebey.

A special thanks goes out to the Nurses and Chaplains of Guardian Angel Hospice of Frankfort and Lafayette and the nurses, nurses aides, and administration of Crown Pointe Assisted Living for Mom’s loving care.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Scotland Christian Church, 4001 East Scotland Road, Kirklin, IN.  Friends may visit 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort.
