Mardi Gras Comfort Food Comes To Delphi This Saturday

Mardi Gras comfort food is coming to Delphi this Saturday, Feb. 17 starting at 10 a.m. for the monthly Do It In Delphi event with a twist.

During the event, numerous restaurants will be serving southern comfort food and themed beverages to keep Delphi in the Mardi Gras spirit.

The Office Tavern will be serving king cake shots, milk punch and grasshoppers, Sassy’s Salon will be serving chicory coffee and beignets, Brick & Mortar Pub will be serving Cajun chicken pasta and brick hurricanes, Tippy’s Restaurant and Bar will be serving shrimp boil, red beans and rice, Stone House Restaurant will be serving mini king cakes, beignets, pecan pralines, cheesy shrimp and grits, The Sandwich Shop will be serving po boys and gumbo, Fika will be serving grasshopper lattes and king cake lattes, Mitchell’s Mex will be serving Cajun shrimp tacos, Healthies will be serving smarties energy bombs and El Rinconcito will be serving Cajun queso.

The Delphi VFW will also be serving shrimp po boys with Cajun fries throughout the day for $8.50. The Dog House will be hosting an evening of Mardi Gras activities. Beginning at 4 p.m., community members will be treated to jambalaya and tastings from Arvin’s Acres Winery and Fontana Farms Brewing, and at 8 p.m., Rock America will perform.

The event will not include a parade or jazz this year, but the event organizers stated that they are consistently seeking volunteers to make their events bigger and better.
