Margaret L. Gardner

Margaret L. Gardner, 86, of Frankfort, passed away January 4, 2022, at IU Health Arnett, Lafayette.  She was born August 16, 1935, in Clinton County to Raymond Everett Curnutt and Louise Catron.  She was raised by her father and stepmother, Mary (Avery) Curnutt.  She married Raymond Gardner on June 18, 1957, and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1987.

Margaret attended Michigantown School through her junior year, then graduated from Rossville High School in 1953.  She worked for Eller Funeral Home in Frankfort, then at Wal-Mart for over 20 years.  She was a long-time Brownie and Girl Scout leader.  She enjoyed crafting hair bows, selling them at craft shows.  But above all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially attending events and activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by a son, Patrick Gardner of Frankfort; two daughters, Penny Bartlett of Frankfort, and Pamela (Jeff) Wellman of Michigantown; a sister, Shirley Louks; six grandchildren, Alexis (Aaron) Atkisson, Gavin (Betty) Wellman, Cade (Kelsey) Wellman, Blake (Jade) Williams, Peter Williams, and CJ Williams; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Elizabeth Richey.

Visitation will be Monday, January 10, 2022 from 3pm until the start of the service at 6pm at Genda Funeral Home~Frankfort with Pastor Toph Elkins officiating.  A committal will be held 10am Tuesday, January 11, at Whiteman Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in Margaret’s honor to the Clinton County Humane Society.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
