Maribelle Toney Cole, 88, of Frankfort, died October 13, 2020 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette. She was born July 18, 1932 in Frankfort, Ind., Foster J. & Bertha (Hamilton) Toney. She married Richard Cole and they later divorced. Her longtime companion, Jim Thompson, have shared the last 38 years together.
Maribelle was a 1950 graduate of Frankfort High School and a lifelong Frankfort resident. She worked at Mallory Control, retired in 1997 from Unarco Rohn and also worked at Knox Flower Shop. She was former member and past president of Psi Iota Xi and a member of Women of the Moose. She loved spending time with family and keeping up on her grandkid’s antics. She enjoyed her flowers, reading, casino trips with the girls and trips to the Alabama gulf coast.
She is survived by 2 Daughters: Susan (Ed) Robinson of Frankfort, Sara (Gary) Cooper of Frankfort, Son: Tom Cole of rural Frankfort, Longtime Companion: James Thompson of Frankfort and his daughters: Sherrie (Steve) Baker of Decatur, IL and Tammy (Bob) Becker of Plattsburg, MO, 4 Grandchildren: Alison Robinson of Frankfort, Brian (Nicole) Robinson of Mooresville, Derrick (Anna) Cooper of Noblesville, Shannon (Aaron) Weir of Frankfort, 6 Great Grandchildren: Grant, Owen & Haley Robinson, Carson & Gavin Cooper and Rylee Weir, special niece & nephew: Diane Dixon of Frankfort and David Draper of Decatur, GA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Vivian Knox.
Funeral Services:
Memorial visitation will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. November 7, 2020 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. This service will be live-streamed. Please visit our website for the link to participate.
