Marilou Walker

Marilou Walker, 88, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.  She was born August 27, 1930, in Elwood, to Vernon and Nellie (McQuitty) Knotts.  On February 12, 1949, she married Davaun H. Walker; he preceded her in death on December 30, 2011.

Marilou had attended Wendell Willkie High School in Elwood.  She had worked at Mallory Controls for 17 years before retiring.  Marilou was an excellent cook and homemaker; she enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, baking pies, gardening, and square dancing.  She was also an active member of the Antioch Church.

Surviving Marilou are her children, Becky (Paul) Robbins and Max (Mary Ellen) Walker, both of Frankfort; brothers, Bob (Carolyn) Knotts, Joe (Molly) Knotts, and Gary (Sue) Knotts, all of Elwood; sister, Virginia Ozenbaugh, of Elwood; four grandchildren, Alisha (Damon) LaPorte, Megan (Dustin) Smothers, Shawn (Whitney) Walker, and Ryan (Kayleigh) Walker; and three great grandchildren, Gracie, Roeman, and Keafer.

In addition to her husband, Marilou is preceded in death by her son, Rex Walker; and three sisters, Phyllis Johns, Verna Mae Nichols, and Delores Barnes.

Visitation for Marilou will be held at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Klipp officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.  Memorials in Marilou’s name may be made to Antioch Church Building Fund.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
