Marilyn Jean “Jeanie” Evans

Marilyn Jean “Jeanie” Porter Evans, 87, passed away peacefully July 23, 2022 at Hutsonwood of Brazil, Indiana.  She was born on April 17, 1935 in Howard County, to Oral and Mildred (Johnson) Porter.  She was married to Wilbur “Bill” Evans on January 19, 1953 and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2020.

Marilyn lived in Howard and Clinton County most of her life and was a 1953 graduate of Forest Indiana High School. She was an active member of the Worldwide Church of God for many years and was a member of the Grace Community International Church of God in Lafayette, Indiana. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, cooking, painting, ceramics and other crafts as well as crocheting.  Marilyn was a very giving Christian and loved her family and friends wholeheartedly and unconditionally.  She was greatly loved by many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her Daughter: Diana L. and (Keith) Prutsman of Jacksboro, Tennessee and 2 Sons: Richard “Dick” and (Sherry) Evans of Frankfort, Indiana and Dale Evans of Jacksboro, Tennessee. Marilyn had 7 Grand Children, Matt, Eric, Kyle and Scott Evans; Michelle Prutsman Uranga and Justin Prutsman and Jamie Evans Priddy, 17 Great Grandchildren, Brittany, Emily Evans, Meredith Rose, Mallory and Jack Evans, Nathan, Cameron and Hudson Evans and Harper Evans. Darin, Cody and Ethan Durkee and Myles Uranga. Mersades (Alyssa) Prutsman and Presley Prutsman; Jaylan, and Austin Priddy. 8 Great Great Grandchildren: Luna and Matius Durkee, Stori Lynn Rose Durkee, Lana and Jason Pope and Grayson, Luka Prutsman and Bryson Ennis.

She is preceded in death by her parents and was the youngest of her 3 siblings, Mae Purvis, Ernest and Earl Porter.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Green Lawn Cemetery, Chapel of Peace.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the chapel.  Pastor David Perry will officiate the services. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation.  Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S.
