Marilyn Louise Slipher, 95, of Kokomo, passed away July 10, 2026 at Primrose Assisted Living in Kokomo. She was born on October 7, 1930 in Tell City, Indiana to Herman and Louise (Holtzman) Webb. She married Clayton Slipher in 1948 in Frankfort and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1958.
Marilyn was a 1948 graduate of Michigantown High School. She worked for People’s Life and Mallory Controls both in Frankfort before working for Delco Electronics in Kokomo, from which she retired in 1995. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kokomo. She enjoyed flower gardening.
Surviving are her children: Jeffrey Slipher (companion: Cathy Hernandez) of Sheridan, Judith (Maurice) Munson of LaPorte, Jennifer (Steve) Neal of Kirklin, Joseph (Vaughnie) Slipher of Thorntown, and Rick Somsel of Castle Rock, Colorado, along with 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Jane Lewis, daughter-in-law: Sara Slipher, sisters: Estelle Lottes, Rovilla Lykken, Wilma Edwards, and Ruth Webb, and brothers: Carroll Webb, Frank Webb, Norman Webb, Walter Webb, Jim Webb, Ralph Webb, and John Webb.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Marilyn’s honor to the charity of the donor’s choice.
