Marilyn “Peg” Clark

Marilyn Y. “Peg” Clark, 87, of Flora, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Creasy Springs Health Campus in Lafayette.

She was born September 11, 1930, in Delphi, to Chalmer R. “Chad” and Nellie M. Boone Albaugh.  She was formerly married to Donald Brower.  On May 11, 1973, she married Francis B. “Tic” Clark; he passed away on April 20, 2015.  Together, they had shared over 40 years of marriage.

In 1948, Peg graduated from Flora High School; she was one of the distinguished few who had the opportunity to cheer for the 1946 Flora Badgers in the State Basketball Final on the Flora High School cheerleading squad.  Throughout her life, Peg worked as an office manager in South Bend, Carroll High School Superintendent’s Office, and Lane and Bishop Law Office before becoming the Flora Town Clerk before retiring.  Peg attended Lower Deer Creek Church where she played the piano and played the organ as a life-long member of Flora United Methodist Church.   Second to her family, Peg’s true passion was being an active member of Delta Theta Chi Sorority for over 65 years; she had served as National President from 1967-1969 and then National Executive Secretary.  She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, being their past Worthy Matron. Peg was active in the Flora Senior Center and Meals on Wheels program and enjoyed golf.

Surviving Peg are her daughter, Jane (Gary) Woods, of West Lafayette; granddaughters, Joni (Tim) Long, of Evansville, and Kimberly (Drew) Gore, of Zionsville; step-grandson, Scott (Joelle) Woods, of Tipton; and great-grandchildren, Braydon, Avery, & Caleb Long, Rylon, Hagen, & Kenley Gore, and Kellen & Keaton Woods.

In addition to her husband and parents, Peg is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert K. Albaugh and Jerry G. Albaugh.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Flora United Methodist Church from 1:00 p.m. to the start of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m.  Pastor Jeff Landon will officiate.  Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora.  Memorials may be made to Flora United Methodist Church or Delta Theta Chi Scholarship Fund.  Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora, with online condolences being directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
