Marilyn S. Wimborough, 87, of Sheridan, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on January 27, 2024 at Riverview Health, Noblesville. She was born in Phlox, Indiana on May 21, 1936 as the only child of her adoring parents, Henry and Evelyn (Rosier) Rominger. She married the love of her life, Lowell “Ralph” Wimborough, on November 3, 1957, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 1994. Marilyn grew up in Howard County, moving to Clinton County after her marriage.
Marilyn was a 1954 graduate of Eastern High School in Greentown. She worked as an inspector for Delco Electronics in Kokomo for nearly thirty years before her retirement in 1990. Marilyn was a member of Hills Baptist Church in Pickard and enjoyed being a part of their Ladies Circle. She adored animals and had many dogs and cats during her lifetime, including her beloved dog, Lucy, and helped her husband operate his large hog farm operation during his lifetime. Cooking was her specialty (and she never used a recipe!), and she loved antiques, holidays, talking on the phone with friends, was a fan of Purdue men’s basketball, enjoyed being with her family, and playing games with her family like euchre, and all card and board games.
She is survived by her children: Kimberly (Terry) Bishop of Sheridan, Beverly (Brian) Crawford of Sheridan, and Lowell Brian Wimborough of Sheridan. Seven grandchildren: Brant (Melissa) Bishop, Robin (Camden) Parkhurst, Brooke Bishop, Amanda (James) Thompson, Chelsea Crawford, Rob Wimborough, and Spencer Wimborough. Six great-grandchildren: Lyla and Jack Bishop, Kylie and Cooper Parkhurst, and Maddox and Fitz Thompson. Sister-in-law: Martha (Roger) Goings of Noblesville. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
The family wants to send their deepest love, appreciation, and gratitude to her wonderful in-home health care workers that helped her be able to remain at home during her final years: Carmen Lopezfilio, Guylia Lacy, Eli Long, and Janice Walker.
