Mark Caldwell, age 72, of Frankfort passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 1, 2026. He was born December 4, 1953 in Clinton county to Robert and Patricia (Groty) Caldwell. Mark married the love of his life Cathy Coy on May 27, 1977 at the Jefferson United Methodist Church and she survives.
Mark was a graduate of Clinton Prairie High School, Class of 1972. Following his graduation, he entered the workforce and dedicated many years to Federal Mogul, where he operated a punch press. He was a faithful member of Jefferson United Methodist Church and was actively involved with UAW Local #1949, where he also served as the former president.
He found his greatest joy outdoors, spending countless hours hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing volleyball and softball, proudly participating in a local league. Above all, Mark will be remembered for his quick wit and the ease with which he brought a smile to those around him. Known for his strong will and candid nature, qualities that only added to his unmistakable charm. A devoted family man, Mark loved deeply and unconditionally. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, strength, and unwavering love.
Along with his wife of nearly 50 years, Mark is survived by his children, Shannon Caldwell, Stephanie (Dan) Goodwin, Amanda Caldwell, and Brandon (Kim) Caldwell; Grandchildren, Breawna Caldwell, Kaleb Horn, Kullen Horn, Sophie Goodwin, Daxton Goodwin, Ella Goodwin, and Chance Caldwell; Siblings, Terri (Donnie) Butler, Mike (Mary) Caldwell, and Lori (Jim) Hopkins; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and beloved grandson, Zachary Caldwell.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 6, 2026 from 4 pm until 7 pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held the following day Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 10 am at Day & Genda Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Ely officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
