Markwood “Mark” A. Mohler

Markwood “Mark” A. Mohler, 71, died Friday, September 10th at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL following a brief illness.  Mark was born in Indiana September 11th, 1949, the son of Clinton A. and Loleeta “Pete” (Stroup) Mohler.  They preceded him in death.  Mark graduated from Frankfort High School in 1967 and later from Ball State University with degrees in Political Science and Psychology.  He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.

Mark worked many years in the insurance business.  Later he moved to Bradenton, FL where he resided until his death.  Mark touched many lives; loved people and never met a stranger.  Mark enjoyed music, dancing and social gatherings.  He loved both fresh and saltwater fishing, taking many trips with friends and family.  He was a sports enthusiast, played youth baseball and basketball and supported youth development in sports and academics.

Markwood lived life with such a positive attitude no matter his situation; he had so much fun with so many people and especially loved his time spent with family.  He made sure everyone had a laugh with a story or lifted spirits with a unique compliment.  He took a genuine interest in people, remembering details from previous conversations, no matter how long ago or how brief.  We feel blessed to have so many memories with him and will truly miss him.  He may also be remembered by his recent involvement with the “Mark & Bark” radio show in Bradenton Florida.  Heaven just became more entertaining.

Mark is survived by his children; Adam (wife, Kim), Stuart, Florida and Angie (husband, Ron), Milan, Michigan.  A sister; Nancy, Colorado.  His grandchildren:  Avery Mohler, Ava Thornton and is preceded in death by grandchildren Andrew, Abby and Anna Thornton.  Mark is also survived by an aunt and uncle and numerous cousins.
