Marquita Reed

Marquita Reed, 67, of South Carolina, passed away February 9, 2025.  She was born April 27, 1957 in Portland, Oregon to Donald & Juanita (Sunrise) Easterly.  She married Jim Reed on April 21, 2022 and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2022.

From a young age, Markie was the life of the party and always a very free spirit! She lived life to the fullest!  Later in life, she enjoyed staying home where she enjoyed time with her husband, her dog and her plants.  She was very fortunate to spend the last 2 years with her family in SC, enjoying the view through the eyes of her only great grandchild.

She is survived by her sons, Benjamin (Angie) McCracken of South Carolina, Seth McCracken of Georgia, siblings, Donald (Renee) Easterly Jr., of Kirklin, IN, Anthony Easterly of Kokomo, Rose (Shane) Payne of Lafayette, Karleen (Bruce) Gamblin of Fortville, Rita (Scott) Clark of Brookston, Bill (Marla) Easterly of Washington, mother-in-law, Dale Reed of Rossville, IN, brother-in-law, Joe (Rosa) Reed, sister-in-law, Tina Meyer, brother-in-law, Jon Reed of Rossville, IN, 3 grandchildren, Jordan McCracken of Minnesota, Kaleb McCracken of Florida, Hanna McCracken of South Carolina, 1 great grandchild, Wesley McCracken of South Carolina, and a plethora of nieces, nephews, whom she loved as her own children.

Marquita is preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and husband.
