Mary K. Townsend, 91, of Frankfort, died May 22, 2020 at St. Vincent Kokomo Hospital in Kokomo. She was born on September 8, 1928 in Tippecanoe County to Carl Jennings and Eleanor Johanna (Lenehan) Timmons. She married Joe H. Townsend on September 8, 1949 in Frankfort and he survives.
Mary was a 1947 graduate of Mulberry High School and was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church. She loved her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and Cincinnati Reds baseball.
Surviving are her Son: Don (Sue) Townsend; Daughter: Debbie (Bill) Winchester; Sisters: Myrtle I. Peterson and Carol Timmons all of Frankfort; Sisters-in-law: Janet Timmons of Lafayette and Claudia Timmons of Mulberry; 7 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be Noon – 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort. Following the guidelines established by the State of Indiana in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be allowing up to 40 people in the funeral home at a time. When you arrive at the funeral home parking lot, staff members will provide direction. We appreciate your cooperation and patience. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
