Mary L. Howe

Mary Luetta Howe, 88, left this earth to join her husband Robert James Howe in heaven on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Mary was born to the late Samuel Raymond and Frances Adelia (Marlow) Bailey. She was blessed to be the only girl among five brothers who treated her like a princess. Bob, Tom, Sam, Dick, and Kenny Bailey.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Ronald) Baird and Linda Doke. Ron was more like a son to her, and she lived with them for eleven years. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth (Sue) Bailey; brother-in-law, Richard (Wilma) Howe; grandkids whom she loved dearly, Mike (Yvonne) Baird, Amber (Scott) Miller, Kurt (Carrie) Baird, Andy Doke, Ryan (Sheena) Baird, Ashley (Shawn) Coleman, and Aaron (Hannah) Doke; great grandkids, Shantel (Brian) Telljohann, Chelsea (Aaron) Hiland, Michaela (Richard) Stover, Caden (Aubrey Stewart) Baird, Casey Baird, Caitlyn (Brendan) Hawbaker, Lily Coleman, Cami Baird, Aubrey Miller, Noah Baird, Clara Coleman, Breyann Miller, Eliza Baird, Wyatt Miller, Charlee Coleman, Jeanna Doke, Isaac Baird, Carter Doke, Carsten Doke, and Hadley Doke; and eight great-great grandkids. Mary (Aunt Lue) was also blessed with many loving nieces and nephews. She also had a great group of lady friends from her school years whom she was still in contact with until her death.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert James Howe; her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Frances Bailey, Thomas and June Bailey, Samuel and Jacqueline Kay Bailey, Richard and Jackie Bailey, Barbara Smith and Wilma Howe; brother-in-law, Thomas Howe; and her ex-son-in-law, Kim Doke.

Mary was a member of the Lebanon Church of Christ. She worked at Peter Paul Candy in Frankfort until they closed. She enjoyed riding horses and camping with her family and later helping her husband with his trucking business.

Visitation is planned from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the funeral home with David McElwain officiating. Entombment will follow services at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort, Indiana.
