Mary Lowery

Mary K. Lowery, 80, of Cutler, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Wesley Manor in Frankfort. She was born in Clinton County on December 27, 1939 to Fred Wesley and Glee Ruby (Smith) Gochenour.

Mary graduated from Rossville High School in 1957 and Methodist Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked as a registered nurse at Clinton County Hospital for many years.  She had been a member of the Cutler Presbyterian Church.  She loved being outdoors and was an accomplished Master Gardener.  The family fondly remembers gathering every spring for kite flying, mushroom hunting, and making stepping stones.  Mary loved her children and grandchildren and attended as many of their events as she could.

Mary is survived by her children, Aleta Cable of Delphi, Sheila Lowery of Rossville, Lana (Rob) Dispennett of Brazil, Greg (Anita) Lowery of Mulberry and Wendy Lowery of Cutler; Siblings: brother, Wayne Gochenour of Zionsville; sisters, Betty Moss of Frankfort, Marjorie Cornwell of California, Nancy (Kenneth) Disinger of Rossville, and Patty Bright of Mulberry; Grandchildren: Wesley (Sarah) Cable, Marla Cable/April Kelson, Evan (Madeline) Cable, Kelly Ruff, Jacob (Leana) Dispennett, Alexa (Matthew) Hersey, Isaac and Elias Dispennett, Rebecca and Reanna Lowery; and her great grandchildren, Hailey, Earl, Bruce, and Coyote.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Dan, Jack, and Mack Gochenour; and her sister, Audrey Ruch.

Viewing will be from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, December 26 at Genda Funeral Home in Rossville and will be immediately followed by a private family burial service.  Occupancy will be limited to 50 people during the viewing, so wait time may be experienced.  CDC guidelines requiring face masks and social distancing will apply.  Family and friends are invited to view the live stream service on the Genda Funeral Home website, www.gendafuneralhome.com.  Rob Dispennett, minister and son-in-law of Mary, will officiate.  Burial will follow at Ball Hill Cemetery in Cutler.
