Mary R. Galvin

Mary R. Galvin 89, of Carmel, Ind., died March 11, 2018 at St. Vincent Heart Center, Indianapolis, Ind.  She was born June 9, 1928 in Frankfort, Ind. to William Sanford & Lona Pearl (Stewart) Brewer.   She married Francis William “Sandy” Galvin on September 5, 1950 and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2003.

Mrs. Galvin was a 1946 graduate of Jackson Township School.  She was a credit manager for Alden Department Store and a bookkeeper for Jacquelyn Fry Collection for 20 years.  She had lived in Frankfort prior to moving to Carmel in 1981.  Mary won the American Legion Award in 1942.  Mary was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family.

Mary is survived by: 1 Daughter:  Jacquelyn (Gary) Bilbrey of Carmel, Ind., 1 Son:  Stephen R. (Tamara) Galvin of Bloomington, Ind., 3 Grandchildren:  Bryan W. Fry of Fishers, Reagan M. (Shawn) Williams of Carmel & Conor Matthew Galvin of Stanford, Cal. and 2 Great Grandchildren, Rilee N. Wilson and Vaughn E. Williams both of Carmel. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.

Services:

 No visitation is planned.  Private family services will be held.  Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to American Heart Association.  Goodwin Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Please visit goodwinfuneralhome.com, where you may share a personal message for the family.
