The Frankfort Community Public Library announced that beginning today (Tuesday) masks are once again required indoors at the Frankfort Community Public Library and branches in Michigantown, Mulberry, and Rossville. All patrons ages 3+ are required to wear masks while indoors at the library, regardless of their vaccination status.
In person programming will continue, Harry’s Coffee Bar will remain open, and meeting rooms may still be reserved at the library. These changes are being implemented after reading current recommendations by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
“CDC issued this new guidance due to several concerning developments and newly emerging data signals. First is a reversal in the downward trajectory of cases. Second, new data began to emerge that the Delta variant was more infectious and was leading to increased transmissibility when compared to other variants, even in vaccinated individuals.”
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation while we continue to navigate the safest way to be of service to the community. You can learn more about the Delta Variant on the CDC’s website, cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/variants/delta-variant.html.
