Maurice “Mick” Click, 84, Frankfort, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Clinton House Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was born May 5, 1939, in Barbourville, Kentucky to Ray and Sudie Mae (Fortney) Click.
Mick was a 1957 graduate of Scircleville High School. He served in the United States Air Force, United States Marines, Unites States Navy, and the US Army Reserves. He worked in auto sales for many years with Rohrman Auto Group. He attended New Beginnings Ministry and was a member of Moose Lodge #7. Mick loved playing and performing country music. He played with Ernest Tubb & The Midnight Jamboree at the Grand Ole Opry, and opened for Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Johnny Paycheck, Jamie Banta, Steve Warner, and Clay Rigdon. And though Mick had accomplished these things, he considered himself a simple man. He was just a good ol’ boy that loved to pick up a guitar and play.
Mick is survived by his children; Gary Click, Eddie (Lora) Click, Terry (Glenda) Click, James (Sarah) Click, Sandy (Todd) Lowery, and Sue Rex; brothers, Tommy (Donna Howe), Freddie and Ken Click; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Shelby and Ron Click; sister, Sharon Click; great grandson, Eric Austin; daughter-in-law, Vicki Click; sisters-in-law, Deb and Teresa Click; and the mother of their children, Patricia Click,
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 4-7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral Services be held at 11am, Friday, January 5, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastors Paul Whitaker and Nate Moore will officiate. Burial will follow at Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Mick’s honor to the Guardian Angel Hospice or the VA Blind Center.
