McBarnes: ‘I Am Committed to Serving Frankfort’

As many of you have heard or read, my name has been discussed as a possible replacement for recently retired State Senator Brandt Hershman’s seat in the Indiana General Assembly. It’s been a great honor to have so many encourage me to pursue this opportunity.

Just like I do with every challenge and potential new experience that I encounter or comes my way, my wife, Samantha and I prayed about it and I gave it the serious consideration it was due.

My heart is in Frankfort and with the residents and community I continue to proudly serve. I am not going to abandon my beloved hometown. This is where I am staying to complete the remainder of my term as your mayor.

From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate the words of encouragement and support from so many of you and for your faith in my abilities to potentially represent Frankfort and Clinton County at the Statehouse. But my desire to finish the many vitally important projects we have underway and my commitment to seeing Frankfort continue to succeed outweighs the State Senate opportunity.

Thank you all for your continuing interest and involvement in your city. As always, I am grateful and blessed to be your mayor.

Mayor Chris McBarnes
