McBarnes Issues Statement on Passing of Marilyn Ransom

Frankfort Mayor Chris McBarnes has issued the following statement regarding the passing of Marilyn Ransom.

Friends,

Our heartfelt prayers go out to Tom Ransom and the Ransom family on the loss of their wife, mother and grandmother, Marilyn. Marilyn passed away early Monday morning, leaving behind a legacy as an educator and community leader. She was an exceptional teacher for the Community Schools of Frankfort for 22 years. As a student in her class I can personally attest to the everlasting impact she had on the lives she taught. Marilyn and Tom were very active community leaders while raising Todd, Mark, Rob and Melissa. The Ransom family will forever be pillars of this community.

Having served on our Board of Public Works and Safety during our administration’s first term, Tom was an invaluable member of our City team and we miss him, but know he has been busy caring for Marilyn the past few years. As life partners, Tom and Marilyn were a remarkable team!

As we mourn Marilyn’s passing, we extend our thoughts and prayers to Tom and the entire Ransom family during this sad and difficult time. May God bless Marilyn for a life well-lived in love and service to others. She will be deeply missed. May God bless her family and friends with strength, comfort, peace and loving memories.

Mayor Chris McBarnes
