Memorial Day Program Schedule Announced

The schedule has been announced for the annual Memorial Day Program that will be held on the south side of the Clinton County Courthouse at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27. This event is usually held at Veterans Park, but had to be moved due to the fire that hit the area on January 22.

The program is as follows:

Introductions — Mel Betts, Past Commander Post 12;

Invocation — Ken Rushing, New Life Assembly of God;

Pledge of Allegiance — Boy Scout Troop 336, Mulberry;

National Anthem — Jackie Clements;

Reading — Millard See, Sons of the American Legion Squadron #12;

Flanders Field — Opal Bower, President American Legion Auxiliary Unit #12;

Mayor’s Address — Mayor Chris McBarnes, City of Frankfort;

Memorial Address — SGM Joseph Oyler, U.S. Army (Ret);

Patriotic Song — Jackie Clements, God Bless the U.S.A.;

Wreath Ceremony — American Legion, VFW Auxiliaries, DAR/CAR;

Firing Squad — Marine Corps League #967;

Taps — Larry McBee, Past Commander American Legion Post #12;

Benediction — Father Chris Miller, St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
