Mencho Garcia, Sr., 60, of Frankfort, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. He was born in Portland, Oregon on August 1, 1960 to Jose H. and Maria (De La Luz) Garcia. He married Irene Sanchez on April 18, 1978; she survives.
Mencho was raised in San Juan, Texas and moved to Frankfort, Indiana in 2004. He was a truck driver for Wampler Services for the past five years. He attended Cornerstone Assembly of God in Frankfort.
Mencho was very social and had a contagious smile. He was a lovable Dad who cherished spending time with his grandkids.
Surviving with his wife, Irene, are his sons, Jaime Garcia and Mencho Garcia, Jr. of Frankfort; his daughters, Ivette Castillo (husband Zachary), Ofelia Galvez (husband Miguel Jr.), Crystela Ibarra (husband Dimas III) and Maria De La Luz Guerrero (husband Jose) all of Frankfort; a bonus son, Efrain Quinones, Jr.; his siblings, Pedro Garcia, Beatriz DeLeon, Alfredo Garcia, Jose Garcia, Yolanda Ollervidez, Maria Ibarra, Martin Garcia, and Guadalupe Andaverde; and 16 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mario Garcia; his siblings, Juan, Adelita, Jesus, Irma, and Luis; and a grandson, Dimas Isaac Ibarra.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. A live-stream funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 12 at Cornerstone Assembly of God in Frankfort with Pastor Brad Fullerton officiating.
