Mercedes L. Ferguson

Mercedes L. Ferguson, 82, of Colfax, passed away February 3, 2021 in her home.  She was born on October 20, 1938 in Sanlucar, Spain to Jose Lopez Constanial and Rosario Lopez Montanio.  She married Howard L. “Buck” Ferguson on February 10, 1960 in Spain and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2012.

Mercedes was a Homemaker and had also worked for Miller’s Restaurant and at Shoestring Corp.  She was a member and past President of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her Daughter: Madeline Sanders of Colfax; Sons: Howard L. (Lucia) Ferguson Jr. of Fishers and Robert “Bobby” (Mark) Ferguson-Arvin of Indianapolis; 14 Grandchildren: Nathan (Alisha) Pritchard, Nicole (Jason) Flynn, Chelsi Johnson, Duston Gleason (Carrie Gabel), Shana Ferguson, Natasha (Chad) Chapman, Breona (Killian) O’Brien, Tori (Aaron) Cooper, Nikki Mckinzie, Jessica Pal, Maria (Bill) Higer, Amanda (Kyle) Roberts, Megan (Chad) Myers, Howard (Brittany) Black; and 24 Great-Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Margarita Pritchard, son: Donald “Gene” Ferguson, son-in-law: Doug Sanders, and 7 brothers and sisters.

Friends may visit 1-4 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort.  Private Family Services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.  Out of respect for the health, safety, and comfort of all in attendance, guests will be expected to adhere to current CDC guidelines regarding appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks.
