Meyer to Lead IU Health Hospital

Star Meyer, JD, BSN, RN, has been appointed to lead Indiana University Health Frankfort Hospital. Meyer will serve in a dual role as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer for IU Health Frankfort Hospital.

In this new position, Meyer will implement rural health strategies as she leads IU Health Frankfort Hospital operations, guided by the IU Health Way, a three-pronged commitment to the organization’s vision, values and promise. With a focus on best practices and continuous process improvement, Meyer will oversee IU Health Frankfort nursing professional practice and nursing services operations. All while engaging the local community to build relationships and address community needs.

Meyer previously served as the Administrative Director for the OB/GYN, Neonatology, Pediatrics, Cardiology, Cardiac Rehab, Thoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery departments for the west central region of IU Health, which includes hospitals in Frankfort, Monticello and Lafayette. For the past fifteen years, she has served in progressively advancing clinical leadership positions within IU Health. She started her career in healthcare as a registered nurse, holding positions in both hospital-based and outpatient settings.

Meyer graduated from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, then received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Joseph’s College. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Indiana Health Law Review.
