Longtime Frankfort resident, Michael L. Spear, 58, of Richmond, Ind., died June 28, 2023 at his home, unexpectedly. He was born March 30, 1965 in Frankfort, Ind. to Charles O. “Chuck” and Phyllis I. (Conner) Spea

Michael was a 1984 Frankfort High School graduate. He lived most of his life in Frankfort prior to moving to Richmond last year. He had formerly worked for Wesley Manor, the City of Frankfort, Zachary’s and for many years was a volunteer for the Hot Dog Festival. While living in Richmond, he worked for the Richmond Community Schools. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Frankfort and the American Legion Post 12 in Frankfort. Mike enjoyed demolition derby’s and loved caring for his “grand-pups” for his daughters.
He is survived by, 3 Children: Molly (Ben) Nauman of Richwood, OH, Maggie (Max) Smith of Richmond, IN, Leigh Spear of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Brother: Bill (Jennifer) Spear of Crown Point, IN, 3 Grandchildren: Bruin, Annaleigh and Griffin Michael.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Green Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Please visit goodwinfuneralhome.com, where you may leave a message.
