Michael “Mike” Craig Norris, 71, passed away at Franciscan Health in Lafayette, IN, on September 28, 2024. He was born August 23, 1953, in Frankfort, IN, to James M. and Rita R. (Woolfington) Norris.
Mike was a lifelong Frankfort resident, graduating from Clinton Prairie High School in 1971. From there he went on to become a Frame Carpenter for many years. He was baptized at Antioch Church of Christ in Antioch, IN. Mike was the oldest of 5 children. Mike married the love of his life, Sandra S. Routh, on November 27, 1982. He and his wife have been living off grid for the last 10 years. He built his own wind turbine and solar energy panels. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and made several pieces of furniture.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra “Sandy” S. Norris; his children, James R. Norris (India), Megan L. Lovelady (Dusty), and Jeremiah D. Norris; sisters, Julie Gregory (Roger) and Margie Davis (Pastor Rick); and brothers, Bradley K. Norris and Howard A. Norris (Teresa). They have 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored greatly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Craig A. Norris.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm and Friday, October 4, 2024, from 10 am to 11 am at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 11am, at the funeral home, with Pastor Rick Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
