Middle-Aged Man Arrested in Mail Bomb Scare Case

Details are coming out about the Florida man charged with sending at least 13 IEDs in the mail.  Reports claim Cesar Sayoc Junior was a fitness-obsessed male stripper who dreamed of becoming a professional wrestler.  An unidentified cousin told NBC News that Sayoc was a “lost soul” and “loose cannon” who no longer spoke to his family.  His cousin also alleged he had previously been using steroids and was incredibly into his physique.  Sayoc had allegedly gotten into the lifestyle when he was 22 and never looked back.  An event promoter in Ohio described him as a “big muscle head,” and compared his lifestyle to that of a gypsy.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions says the suspect in the wave of suspected mail bombs could face up to 58-years in prison.  In a Justice Department news conference today, Sessions said the 56-year old Sayoc Junior will be charged with five federal crimes.  More than a dozen suspected pipe bombs have been directed at high-profile targets in the U.S., primarily Democrats.  Sessions said he doesn’t know why so many Democrats were targeted.  He noted that the suspect appears to be “a partisan.”

Recipients include former President Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former First Lady Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Eric Holder, New Jersey Democratic Senator Cory Booker, California Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, former CIA Director John Brennan and former national intelligence chief James Clapper.
