Mike Evans

Mike Evans, 54, a life-long resident of Kirklin, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019.  He was born October 17, 1964, in Frankfort, to Kenneth L. and Joyce Ann (Reynolds) Evans.  On December 21, 2012, Mike married Cindy King; she survives in Kirklin.

In 1983, Mike graduated from Clinton Central High School and technical school in Vincennes. He was the owner of Blue Light Freight of Kirklin and had formerly worked at the Indianapolis International Airport in the refueling division and Jones Electric in Sheridan.  Mike was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Kirklin and the American Legion Riders Club in Sheridan. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, traveling and golf. He always enjoyed spending time with his friends at the “Blue Light Lounge”.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his daughter, Amber (Sean) Otis of Kirklin; sons, Justin (Courtnay) Evans of Michigantown and Chase Evans of Nashville, TN; brothers, Brian (Suzanne) Evans of Russiaville and Matthew (Libby) Evans of Zionsville; sisters, Beth (George) Evans and Melissa (Chris) Perry of Kirklin; grandchildren, Madison and Emma Turner, Tyler Otis, Jaison, Jaelyn and Jaxton Evans; and several nieces and nephews.  Mike is preceded in death by his parents; son, Skylar Evans and nephew Carson Perry.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at the funeral home with Pastor Karl Kercheval officiating.  Memorials in Mike’s name may be made to the Kirklin American Legion or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
