Milton J. “Joe” Keifer

Milton J. “Joe” Keifer, 88, formerly of Mulberry, passed away on March 24, 2022, in Rossville at his home with family.

Joe was born August 18, 1933, in Kingman, Indiana, to Ralph and Cecil (Moore) Keifer.  He married Ethel Pellam on December 24, 1961, and she preceded him in death on June 22, 2006.

After graduating from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1952, Joe enlisted in the US Air Force, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the Korean War.  After returning from the war, Joe opened and operated CDK Refrigeration for over 20 years.

Joe was a former member of Mulberry UMC, a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 157, and a lifetime member of the American Legion.  In his younger days, Joe was a workaholic.  He loved animals and enjoyed taking his fur babies for walks.

Joe is survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ethel; son, Philip Joseph; one brother; and two sisters.

A graveside service will be held at the Fair Haven Cemetery in Mulberry, on August 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating.  Memorial contributions in Joe’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association.  Online condolences may be made at www.gendafuneralhome.com.
