Morris M. Sillery

Morris Melvin Sillery, 94, of Jamestown, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Witham Memorial Hospital. He was born in Roachdale, Indiana on January 15, 1930, to Roy C. and Grace Winaford (Crump) Sillery.

Morris married Mildred Lois Baker on December 2, 1956, in Whitesville, Indiana and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2002. He then married Sandy Miller Goodall on January 27, 2004; she survives.

Morris graduated from Ladoga High School in Ladoga, Indiana and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1956.

He was a lifelong farmer, working at Hovermale and Hedge International Harvester from 1964-1976. Morris also worked at Jamestown Hardware from 1976-1984, and then was owner and operator of M & L Small Motor Repair from 1984 until retirement. He was a member of the Jamestown Christian Church, serving as Deacon, church trustee, and elder emeritus.

Morris was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandpa. Survivors include his children, Karen (Kent) Hiller of Jamestown, Sharon Kay (Bryce) Huckstep of Jamestown, and Keith (Connie) Sillery of Clarks Hill; grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Roy L. Sillery of Ladoga; and several nieces and nephews.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois and two brothers, Charles Sillery and Glen Sillery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Jamestown Christian Church, 900 North Lebanon Street, in Jamestown, Indiana. Funeral Services are planned for 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Jamestown Christian Church. Interment will follow services at Roachdale Cemetery with Chad Ranson officiating.
