Meet Kaylah Bolender-Heaton. This local 18 year old and Her new restaurant “ Pink Spoon Cafe” is conveniently located at 110 S. Main street in Kirklin Indiana. This young woman is amazing. She is currently a Senior at Clinton Central set to graduate this spring with honors. In her spare time she has been active in the Clinton County 4H program the last 10 years, coaches a youth softball team in Kirklin, has sat on student council the last 6 years and is a master event planner. As if this wasn’t enough she felt the need to fill a void in the local community by opening up Kirkin’s first Cafe & ice cream and coffee shop. Kaylah took her plans to the building owner and after the second meeting she learned she had to have someone sign on the lease with her because she was only 17 at the time. That did not stop her. After securing a co-signer on the lease The Pink Spoon Cafe is in business and Kaylah is the owner. Story was provided to us by Hanna L. Bannister Heaton, The Co-signer and fellow employee at the Pink Spoon Cafe.
