Mulberry Offers Summer Sprinkling Credits For Town Residents

The Town of Mulberry has announced that town residents will have the option to receive Summer Sprinkling Credits for the summer months to ensure that excess usage of water does not severely increase water bills.

The town council ruled at their meeting on May 1 that the Summer Sprinkling Credit Program would become available to residents during the summer months. The council decided that residents who look to receive the Summer Sprinkling Credit are required to submit a Sprinkling Credit Affadavit through the Mulberry Municipal Utilities.

The form may be obtained in the Mulberry Town Hall at 123 S. Glick St. in Mulberry or by visiting the town’s website at townofmulberry.com and selecting “forms and downloads.”

The Sprinkling Credit allows for residents that utilize Mulberry Municipal Utilities to obtain a credit to offset costs associated with excess water usage beyond the average amount of usage typically calculated for the residence throughout the rest of the year. According to the town,

If your household consumption is more than your household average during our Summer Sprinkling Credit program, and you have returned the form to us, you are eligible for the Sprinkling Credit. The program is used during the months of July, August and September. An account can only be adjusted if no water goes into the Mulberry sewage system.

According to the form, the adjustment for a Sprinklin Credit may only be granted up to three times during the calendar year, typically during the summer months spanning from July through September.

The form indicates that Mulberry Municipal Utilities reserves the right to approve or deny any adjustment.
