Mulberry will celebrate a milestone in its history Wednesday evening with the dedication of the town’s first piece of public art.
The Mulberry Mural Project, located on the side of the Sanford and Daughter Building at 140 E. Jackson Street, has transformed the downtown building with a large-scale mural created by artist BKFoxx.
The project was made possible through the Arts Federation in partnership with the Mulberry Community Club. The collaboration brought BKFoxx to Mulberry to create a permanent piece of artwork for the community.
BKFoxx is a public artist from Long Island, New York. She paints photorealistic murals with spray paint. Self taught, she became interested in street art in 2013 practicing with spray paint in abandoned buildings. Starting with old, rundown walls in New York, she has been been invited to paint murals around the world.
