Mulberry Woman Following Pursuit

A 50-year-old Mulberry woman was arrested overnight after leading an Indiana State Trooper on a pursuit that started on the eastside of Lafayette. At approximately 1:15 p.m., Trooper Thad Decker was patrolling Sagamore Parkway near McCarty Lane when he observed a Chevrolet Equinox traveling northbound and operating with expired plates. Trooper Decker attempted to initiate a traffic stop near the intersection of South Street.

The driver, identified as Misty D. Dillon, failed to stop, and led Trooper Decker on a low-speed pursuit to the southside of Lafayette, ending at the Pheasant Run Apartment Complex. After coming to a stop in the parking lot, she failed to comply with verbal commands from multiple troopers and a Lafayette Police K-9 handler. Ms. Dillon eventually complied and was taken into custody without any further incident.

Trooper Decker conducted further investigation after suspicion that she was under the influence of illegal substances. It was also discovered that she had multiple warrants out of Tippecanoe and Marion Counties. A certified chemical test was obtained, and Ms. Dillon was lodged in the Tippecanoe County Jail on the following charges:

-Resisting Law Enforcement w/ Vehicle-Level 6 Felony

-Operating While Intoxicated/Prior Conviction-Level 6 Felony

-Resisting Law Enforcement-Class A Misdemeanor

-Operating While Intoxicated/Endangerment-Class A Misdemeanor

-Additionally, felony warrants out of both Tippecanoe County and Marion County were served.
