JAKE MYERS

Captain Jacob Myers has been appointed to the National Citizen’s Police Academy Association Board of Directors. This appointment was granted last week while Myers attended the National Citizen’s Police Academy Association annual conference in Memphis, Tennessee.

According to Chief Troy Bacon, “Jake has done a tremendous job establishing and coordinating the Frankfort Police Department Citizen’s Police Academy.  This program is an essential component of our interaction with members of this community and has become one of the most talked about and popular programs the police department hosts. We are very proud of Jake’s appointment to the National Citizen’s Police Academy Association Board of Directors”.

Captain Myers has been the program coordinator for the Frankfort Police Department Citizen’s Police Academy for the last five years. Also in attendance at the national conference in Memphis were FPD Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association Secretary Donna Stonehill, and Academy Alumna Corina Myers.

The program provides information on a variety of topics including criminal and vehicle laws, DUI enforcement, criminal investigations, diversity, use of force, K9, and patrol. The next Citizens Police Academy class will start on Thursday, September 19.
