There’s a new name coming to the Frankfort Municipal Airport soon as Montgomery Aviation will become First Wing Jet Center sometime in March according to Vice President and General Manager Shaun White.
“It marks a new chapter for us,” said White Monday night. “We’ve been under new ownership for a little over two years now. This is our way of being able to kind of transitioning that and really tell people we’re the same company in four locations across central Indiana and in Florida.”
White also introduced Corrie Bennett, who will be the new marketing director of the organization. She said there will be a lot more information coming out on this transition in a couple of weeks or so.
Montgomery Aviation was purchased by Eagle Creek Aviation Services of Indianapolis two years ago.
Frankfort Clinton County Airport Authority Board President Alan Dunn gave an update on the new hangar building.
“We’ve received our certificate of occupancy, so we’re open for business,” said Dunn. “We’re accepting aircraft and anybody that needs to overnight out of the weather we can accommodate them now.”
As far as the new terminal is concerned, Dunn said that won’t be ready until sometime this summer.
“Ideally, we’d like to be open by the end of June,” said Dunn. “But more likely it will be mid-to-late July. Then we’ll be ready to have an open house and be open for business.”
