Nancy K. Woodward, 80, of Flora, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, April 6, 2021, at her home. She was born April 19, 1940, in Sullivan County, IN, to Samuel and Alpha Marie (Akers) Graves. She married Bailey Woodward on January 5, 1957; he preceded her in death on March 22, 1983.
Nancy attended school in Shelburn Indiana. She was a member of the Bringhurst United Methodist Church for many years. Nancy had worked in the deli for Stephan’s IGA for almost 30 years prior to her retirement. She loved to read, spoil her grandchildren and spend her free time at the Flora Senior Citizens Center.
Nancy is survived by her children, Michael (Cathi) Woodward of Flora, Beth (Phillip) Hayden of Cutler, Kim L. (Jenean) Woodward of Flora, Doug (Michele) Woodward of Pyrmont and Sarah J. Woodward of Flora; siblings, Nellie Taylor of Shelburn, Bill (Jane) Graves of Dundee, IL, Shirley Newton of Bushnell, FL, and Larry Graves of Brazil; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son, Terry G. Woodward and siblings, Joy Woodward, David Graves, Helen Brown, and Samuel Graves.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 1pm until the start of the funeral service at 2pm. at Genda Funeral Home ~ Reinke Chapel. Pastor Brad Burton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora. Memorial donations may be made to the Flora Senior Citizens Center.
