Nancy Margaret Irmeger, 94, of Rossville, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at IU Health Hospital in Frankfort. She was born on December 30, 1929, in St. Louis, Missouri to Russell and Laura (Black) Stephenson. She married Donald Irmeger on September 17, 1950. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2014.
Nancy was a 1948 graduate of Rossville High School. She worked at Summit Bank, formerly Clinton County Bank and Trust, for 21 years before she retired. She was a member of Rossville Presbyterian Church, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, 50-year member of Helen Bonebrake Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a former member of the Rainbow Girls and Grand Worthy Advisor for the State of Indiana. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending winters in Lake Wales, Florida for over 30 years. But above all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her children, Karen (Wayne) Treece of Monticello, Byron (Bill Craig) Irmeger of Chuluota, FL, and Karla (Jeffrey) Kessler of Rossville; sister, Phyllis McDaniel; grandchildren, Sean (Heather) Treece of Valparaiso, Kyle (Kendra) Treece of Charlotte, NC, Jordan (Michelle) Kessler of Rossville, Heather Kessler of Mishawaka, and Joshua (Meleah) Kessler of Lafayette; and great grandchildren, Riley, Peyton, Clara and Cain Treece, and Jaxson, Carsen and Mackenzie Kessler.
Along with her husband of 64 years, she was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Howard and Phyllis Miller, Donald and Eileen Layton, and George McDaniel.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 4-7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel. Funeral services will be held 1pm, Friday, March 1, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Rick Ryan will officiate. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Nancy’s honor may be made to Rossville Cemetery Association.
