The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has extended the Wind Chill Advisory for portions of central, north central, and west central Indiana until noon Monday. It is going to very cold with wind chills as low as 27 below zero are possible.
The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
Affected areas are Boone, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Howard, Montgomery, Parke, Tppecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion and Warren counties.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat and gloves. A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold are and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frostbite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors, make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
