New Inductees Announced for Hot Dog Alumni Hall of Fame

The Hot Dog Hall of Fame Board of Directors is pleased to announce the Frankfort High School Alumni who will be honored at the sixth annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony to be held on July 29, 2023, in the cafeteria at the high school. This year’s class consists of two Posthumous, one Honorary and three Alumni inductees.

The posthumous honor goes to two Frankfort brothers who became influential planetary astronomers in the early days of the 20 century, Earl Carl Slipher (Class of 1902) and Vesto Melvin Slipher (Class of 1897) . The honorary award will go to Clarence Warthan, a native of Gosport, Indiana who taught and coached at FHS for 37 years.     Dr. Lee F. Dupler returned to the community he grew up in and dedicated 63 years to the healthcare of area residents.  A long-time Frankfort booster who was named Mr. Hot Dog in 2022, Fred Carter (Class of 1949) will be inducted along with local business owner Dan “Bones” Scott (Class of 1978) and Nicole Rudolph (Class of 2003) a historical costumer, educator and popular YouTube personality, @thenicolerudolph

The Board also announced that the third annual Hot Dog Hall of Fame Golf Outing will be held on Friday, July 28, at the Frankfort Commons Golf Course. The Honorary and Alumni inductees will be introduced at the reception following the day of golf. The Board of Directors wants to strongly encourage everyone to send in deserving nominations for future Hall of Fame recognition. Applications may be found at the Frankfort Education Foundation website www.frankforteducationfoundation.org  under the subheading Hall of Fame. Nominations may be made in all three categories—Alumni, Honorary or Posthumous. The Honorary category is for those who, although not an FHS graduates, have served the school system of Frankfort as teachers, administrators, staff, maintenance, cafeteria or coaches for a period of fifteen years or more.
