New Medical Facility Coming to Clinton County This Summer

A new medical facility will be coming to Clinton County this summer, it was announced at the Clinton County Commissioners meeting Monday morning at the Frankfort Airport.

Riggs Community Health Center plans to open a new affordable healthcare center in Frankfort at 2121 South Gopher Drive. The new facility will be abou7 7,500 square feet and will primarily serve those under the poverty line. Riggs officials said that would include 14,000 people in Clinton County, including about 12,000 people who are uninsured. The new facility will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. five days week.

Riggs officials also said they would open in late June to mid July.

“We’re excited about this,” said Clinton County Commissioners President Jordan Brewer. “This was our first introduction to their leadership team and telling us what their plans are for Clinton County.”

Brewer was also asked is there really a need for another medical facility in the area.

“I think there’s always a need to serve people, especially who the target citizen is and that is people who are below the poverty line,” said Brewer.

Besides the planned facility in Frankfort, Riggs also serves Tippecanoe and Boone counties.
