New Regions Bank Officially Opened on City’s East Side

Regions Bank on Tuesday formally unveiled the company’s modern Frankfort branch, which was designed to offer a banking experience that combines the best in local service with the latest in technology.

The branch at 2361 E. Wabash St. replaces Regions’ former branch at the corner of East Washington and North Main streets.

“Regions has been a proud member of the Frankfort community for many years,” said Erik Miner, market executive for Regions Bank in Central Indiana. “Our local team is committed to Clinton County, and making this investment reflects our dedication to the area. We look forward to serving longtime customers, and welcoming new ones, at this modern branch that’s built with their banking needs in mind.”

The branch is notable not only for what it has – but also for what it doesn’t have. There is no waiting in a traditional teller line. Instead, people are greeted personally by a Regions banker upon arrival, and all branch personnel are ready to provide financial services that go beyond simply opening accounts or making routine transactions.

“We’re focused on truly listening to our customers and helping them reach their short-term and long-term financial goals,” said Mike Stilwell, consumer banking manager for Regions in North Indiana. “Yes, we have new technology. And, yes, we are always ready to help with regular banking transactions. But at the same time, this branch places a premium on personal service. It’s built around the concept of enabling our team to take the time to truly listen to people’s needs and then connect them with custom-tailored financial solutions.”

In-branch service is currently being conducted by appointment only, similar to all Regions branches throughout the bank’s footprint, as a safety precaution amid the coronavirus pandemic. There are also extensive service options through the branch’s drive-up ATMs. Specifically, this branch becomes the first in the area to offer Regions Video Banking ATMs.

Through these ATMs, customers can choose standard ATM service – or they can connect with a Regions Video Banker via live, two-way video for personal service during an expanded set of hours. Regions Video Bankers can answer customers’ questions, provide account maintenance, process transactions, and more – all in real time.

Video Bankers are available on weekdays from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. ET. They are also available on Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET and Sundays from noon – 6 p.m. ET. Holidays hours are also from noon until 6 p.m. ET.

The branch also features DepositSmart ATM service. In addition to dispensing cash, DepositSmart ATMs can cash checks – or accept deposits of cash or checks – at any time, day or night.

“Regions’ Video Banking and DepositSmart services provide another great option for customers during this time of social distancing,” added Stilwell. “It’s another way we can help our neighbors conduct their banking business when, where and how it works best for them. We’re committed to making banking more convenient and accessible than ever in Frankfort with this new branch.”
