Mrs. Neysa Marie Searles, 90, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on September 24, 1933, a daughter of the late George William and Harriet Marie (Adams) Earnest.
Raised in Marion, Neysa was a 1952 graduate of Marion High School.
She married Herbert LeRoy Searles on June 27, 1952, in Marion, Indiana. He passed away on March 13, 2020.
The couple moved to Lebanon in 1961 where they held memberships at Centenary United Methodist Church. Neysa was employed with Target as the District Food Manager; she retired in 1996. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she loved her family dearly and enjoyed the times they were together.
Survivors include her five children, David (Barry) Searles of Baton Rouge, LA, Lindley (Teri) Searles of Indianapolis, Douglas (MaryBeth) Searles of Lebanon, Janet (Kevin) O’Brien of Eckerty, Indiana, and Kris Talbott of Lebanon; eleven grandchildren, Paige (Kevin) Walker, Morgan (Albert Burford) Searles, Grace (Michael) Foster, Adam (Lauren) Searles, Tasha Searles, Danielle (Joseph) Dirlam, Tyler (Marissa) Searles, Dustin (Laura) O’Brien, Leslie (Clint) Stewart, Brittany Talbott, and Nolan (Kayla) Talbott, twenty great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Neysa was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Earnest, William Earnest, George Earnest, and Eugene Earnest; sister, Mildred Larson; and a grandson, Mitchell Searles.
Visitation is planned from 12:00 Noon to 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Graveside Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
