The Lafayette Symphony Orchestra Nine Piece Brass Band will play on Saturday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Elizabeth O’Rear Skanta Theatre. Library doors will open at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are still available at $13 apiece. You may purchase your ticket at the library circulation desk with cash, check or credit card. Led by Principal Horn Player Sharon Weyser, the Lafayette Symphony Brass Band brings a dynamic mix of music to a stage near you. Concertgoers can expect to hear everything from fresh takes on pop songs, to beloved standards like “Back Home Again in Indiana.” In the past, the Lafayette Symphony Brass Band has performed at various events across Indiana, including the 100th anniversary of Indiana State Parks and Indiana’s Bicentennial at Shades State Park’s annual Chautauqua event.
Launched in 1951 as a non-profit organization, the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra is focused on enriching the cultural life of the Greater Lafayette community and the 14 surrounding counties through musical excellence and educational experience. In the 70 years since the inception of the Orchestra, the organization has grown immensely. Their home is the Long Center for Performing Arts in Lafayette.
