Frankfort Police officers are forgoing their razors this month in favor of facial hair and contributing to Riley Children’s Foundation.
According to Chief Troy Bacon, “Our annual participation in No-Shave November has provided a way for officers to raise funds for deserving organizations. This year we will be raising funds for Riley Children’s Foundation”.
“Throughout the years, many families at the Frankfort Police Department have benefited from the quality care and love provided to their children by Riley Children’s Hospital doctors and staff. This year for No-Shave November, we chose to raise money to help support the Riley Children’s Foundation to help fund the Riley Red Wagon program.” Bacon explained.
Officers participating in this year’s No-Shave November campaign have been approved to grow a full beard that must be groomed and properly maintained throughout the month. Participating officers will each make at a minimum $20 contribution to Riley Children’s Foundation. In an effort to raise even more funds and reach a goal of $4,000 for the foundation, the Chief has authorized those officers who donate a minimum of $40 to keep their beards until December 31.
Riley Children’s Foundation depends on the generosity of donors. Anyone interested helping the Frankfort Police Department reach its fundraising goal is encourage to drop off donations at the Frankfort Police Department Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
